Shared Ministry
In June 2012, the two congregations of First Presbyterian Church and Our Savior's-Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church approved a SHARED MINISTRY document that gave birth to a new relationship between Presbyterian and Lutheran congregations. Because our two denominations had previously approved a FULL COMMUNION relationship, our two congregations were able to consider this SHARED MINISTRY as a gift from God and an opportunity for each congregation to share resources while maintaining its own identity.
In addition to sharing in the calling of an ordained clergy, the two congregations have employed a part-time office administrator. A monthly newsletter keeps the members informed of the happenings in the two congregations. Currently there is a shared Confirmation program, midweek Advent and Lenten worship services and a yearly picnic/worship gathering. A Shared Ministry Council made up of an equal number of members from both congregations gives guidance and leadership to the direction of our Shared Ministry.
